Message 1: All applicants to apply in new PAN/TAN Forms (Application and Change Request) from 01.04.2026. Old PAN/TAN application forms (Form 49A, Form 49AA, 49B and Change Request) will NOT be accepted after 31.03.2026. As per the revised Income-tax Rules, 2026, w.e.f. April 1, 2026, Aadhaar will NOT be accepted as Proof of Date of Birth along with PAN application. PAN applicants are required to submit Proof of Date of Birth (other than Aadhaar) while applying for PAN.

Message 2: PAN/TAN applications generated in the month of February 2026 through TINFC/PAN Centres, but not processed due to non-submission of valid documents will be closed with effect from March 25, 2026. TINFC/PAN Centres are requested to collect valid documents from PAN/TAN applicants on or before March 25, 2026.
